The municipality describes StartR for young people and others restarting their housing search. Stadswonen instead serves a defined student group. Check age, study status, income and household composition first. A project marketed to starters is not automatically accessible to every first-time applicant.
Build a realistic first step
Budget for rent or purchase, energy, furnishing and recurring expenses. Decide which compromises are temporarily acceptable, such as less space or another neighbourhood. Read the contract length and consider your next step if temporary housing ends. Start required registrations early, while keeping alternatives open: interest registration and waiting time do not guarantee a home.
